BamCee Project explode as Shiva hits Pacha

Reported on Monday, February 23, 2009

In just a matter of a few months BamCee have gone from a class room science experiment to full blown dance floor explosion and not just at some tin pot dance floors, oh no Chris Cee and Bam Bo Tang have recently been mixing their elements at two of London’s super clubs Ministry of sound and Pacha where they have been playing at for legendary The Gallery & Plastic Fondu and the now firmly established Shiva nights.

It was at Shiva that their individual potent music elements really came to the fore and what an explosion of sound and mayhem it was. Playing the 2am-3am slot in the Global room was the order of the night.

1:45am the room was nicely busy people enjoying themselves, dancing away on the dance floor, Chris and Bam finishing off their social butterfly impressions before they morph into BamCee (if you've not heard how BamCee come about read 'Witness the Birth of BamCee')

1:55 Chris and Bam, slip behind the decks, Bam Bo Tang looks great in an all white outfit and lots of DJ bling, whilst Chris Cee dons all almost Evil coloured red T-shirt and red visor. Time for the previous DJ's to step aside having (ahem) ‘warmed up the crowd’ (only playing guys). Ed Fernando & Toby Allen had played an awesome set, really got the crowd going. Chris mixes the first track, he's already playing with the CDJ's loops, with what’s becoming a trade mark sound of his, Bam is busy setting up the extra CD deck and scratch mixer, oh no these guys don't do things by half, 'If you're going to cook up a storm you need more than just 2 decks and a mixer'

5 mins in and the extra equipment is seamlessly setup, Chris then drops a mix of Lenny Kravitz - Are you gonna go may way..... we’re not even not 10 mins into the set and the room is rammed, only just enough room to get your hands above your head and rave with the rest of the room. Bamcee already jumping around behind the decks like crazy scientists conducting their experiments until they boil, mix and metamorphosis into a unique blend of music, Bam’s scratching, sampling and throwing acapellas over the top of some awesome tunes that are being laid down.

It's just like a mad experiment that totally works.

Half way through their set a wicked electro track is playing as a 'you're free' vocal slips out from underneath the dirty track, loving this remix I think..... ‘hold on that’s no remix... it's live!’ Bam has it perfectly in time, all of a sudden the electro track's gone, the vocal rings out as the crowd sings along, Bash back in comes the electro track, hitting you like an explosion, once again the vocal rings out solo. Boom, back in it snaps the electro track, awesome decks skills from the pair. As you see them double high five as if ACCRINGTON STANLEY has just scored at Old Trafford!

Soon Bam Bo Tang has managed to melt her way onto the decks, Chris Cee is on the 3rd CDj, he too Sampling tracks, wow a real multi-talented team we have here, Track after track the gorgeous lady on the hour is bashing out some great tracks including some cheeky mash-ups, Chris meanwhile adding subtle extras to the melting pot.

2:50 The room is still rammed, it's hot it's sweaty and is manic, arms, legs, heads everywhere oh and is that a Flat Eric I see sitting on top of the monitor, sporting an ‘I Love BamCee’ cassette tape chain, Complete Madness.

Chris Cee back on the decks to drop 2 favourites (they may now be a classic but they were just what the crowd wanted) ' You're no good for me, I don't need nobody' booming out of the speakers as the crowd whistle and scream their delight. Bam Bo Tang now on the decks to round off what has been an master class in turntable chemistry her acid laden hands back onto the main 2 CDJ's as she tantalises the crows one last time. Realising it's almost the end of their set, from every corner of the Global room at Pacha the packed crowd applauds, whoops and show their mass appreciation for BamCee.

Shattered, danced off their feet and the loss of their vocal cords, the crowd is more than happy. BamCee leave the DJ booth and as if nothing has happened once again they are two separate DJ's back to play social butterflies and dance the night away.

These two are true party DJ's they love to dance and get dirty with everyone else, almost as happy off the decks as on them, after tonight I dare anyone that has the fortune of seeing them live not to dance, you just can stop yourself........

I only know of a few DJ's that have this unique skill and OMG one that comes to mind is Lizzie Curious and she has booked BamCee to play after her on 27th March at Babalou for her Curiosity Club night. Click here for more info

I just can't wait that's going to be an awesome night.
